I believe the 5V pin is connected to the centre pin of the DC socket. So whatever voltage is applied there will appear at the 5V pin.

While you wait for the official power supply, you can use P1 pin 19
with 3.3 Volt to make the board happy. and on P1 pin 18 you can apply ground. ( check the schematic). for me it worked. see picture

The crystal is represented by symbol P9 on the schematic. It should be connected to pin 12 on the CPLD (RI/O_GCLK0p).
I have also looked at the schematic and don't see how you get from P6 to pin location L2? I am trying to find out which pin the LED is on, this is how I got to this page, the schematic says IO77 which is two pins from the right on the top of the chip. It doesn't help that Quartus shows me a wire bond view and not a pad view. I think the LED is on A11?

I'm not sure if I understand your issue but yes you are correct, the LED should be connected to IO77 (PIN_77) which is indeed the second pin from the right on the top of the chip.

In the pin planner view, you should be able to type PIN_77 in the location column for whatever node you want to assign it to.

Are the header pins pre-soldered on these, or just supplied with them unsoldered?

They are already soldered to the board.
