When running from the 5V feed from the arduino it's fine - it only loses time when disconnected (ie, running from it's own lithium battery). Is that what you meant?

The address in these modules come fixed and are not set in software. The 24C32 device itself can have different I2C address via its address pins A0-2 but on this module they are all grounded to give a fixed address of 0x50.
if thats so, perhaps the example sketch above should have a revision and state that as a line comment for us newbies

So whatever the problem is, it is related to when it's powered from the battery. It sounds like the battery voltage it getting too low but your measurements suggest it's fine. I can't connect your forum account details to your ebay account. Have emailed my ebayID.
It's been running all day on 5V and kept time fine, an hour this evening on bat and it's already lost 15 mins. Am looking to get another nano anyway so if that helps save you postage to send a replacement then that would work for me...

Just to update, replacement arrived today along with my nano order - superfast replacement, thanks!
Just fitted it and it's all working fine. Appears to have lost no time at all in 30 mins off power - that's good enough for me

Hi, I'm quite new to arduino due and I'm trying to use the HCMODU0011 module on it. I have provided 5V power supply and made the connections to SDA and SCL using a logic level converter suitable for I2C (just to be sure 5V is used instead of 3.3V). Unfortunately, loading the example here reported nothing happens: I have noted that software stops during the creation of HCRTC library instance. Can someone help me in solving the problem?

The library hasn't been tested with the due but I can't think of any obvious reason why it shouldn't work. I'll set one up to check this but before I do this but can you tell me which pins you are connecting to on the due and how you are level shifting it?
