OK, next newbie (sort of) question. What is purpose of the three solder pads labeled A0, A1, A2? I don't see them described anywhere.

They represent the lower 3 bits of the I2C address for the EEPROM. By shorting them it connects the appropriate address pin on the EEPROM (A0 to A2) to GND and therefore changes its I2C address between 0x50 and 0x57. As these pins also have pullups on them, when these pads are unbridged the address pins are pulled high hence the default I2C address of 0x57.OK, next newbie (sort of) question. That's right, they are 2mm in diameter.
