Sensor shield

Hi guys,

I bought a sensor shield from the eBay shop which had a compatibility issue, and you very graciously helped me out with a great deal on a new Arduino board.

The new board arrived today, so I hooked it up to do a test but couldn't get the board to see the I2C LCD screen on the other end.

After much head-scratching, scanning and resetting, I finally worked out where the problem lay by looking at one of the photos on the forum.

The issue was that the sensor shield needed two jumpers connected (on the block of pins labelled IIC / COM). I found a couple from an old PC motherboard which seem to do the job and everything sprung to life

Could I suggest that the board should either be supplied with a pair of suitable jumpers, or with a note to mention that they're needed.

It's possibly something that should be obvious, but it's the first time I've used a shield with my board so it's all new territory to me

Anyway. This is meant as constructive criticism, I've had superb service from you so I'm not moaning. Now I've found you guys, I'll be coming back for more things in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. If your are referring to the two jumpers that select between I2C and serial, your board should have come with them fitted and in the I2C position. I'm not sure why yours hasn't got them but I guess the factory must have forget to add them and we didn't spot it. Let us know if you need any sending to you and sorry about the problems with this item!

Btw the page for this item is old and long over due for updating with more information. I'll see if can get this done over the next few days.

Thanks for the message. No point in sending them out on their own but I'm likely to be ordering another couple of bits in the near future so I can add them onto that order. The ones I have from the motherboard are a bit loose, so the proper ones would be worth it.
