COMMENTS/POSTS - Posting comments on this forum requires the creation of a forum account. When creating a forum account the following required information is stored:
Your user name
Your email address
Your password (stored as an encrypted hash)
The above information is required for account creation purposes, spam/blacklist checking. In particular, your email address will be used for account confirmation, password recovery and any important information relating to your forum account. We will not pass on to third parties, or use this information for any other purpose.
After account creation the following optional information can also be provided:

The above information is provided to allow the option for other forum users to contact you via other social websites. We do not make use of this information for any purpose.
Media - As part of a forum post you have the option to attach certain forms of media (PDFs, documents, images, etc). These attachments and any personal data contain within them will also be stored on our server(s). We therefore recommend that you remove any personal information from these attachments. In particular, if you upload images to the forum, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
COOKIES - If you visit or create an account on this site we may use session cookies to store temporary settings. These cookies are not used to track your activity on this or other sites.
EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES - Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We will endeavour to provide this information as quickly as possible (within one month of the original request) and in accordance with the law, but as part of the process we will require confirmation of identity and may request additional information to aid in the process. We have the right to refuse a request when it is deemed to be manifestly unfounded or excessive. In which case you will be informed why your request has been refused.
The right to rectification â€“ Changes to your information can be made via the settings section of your forum account. Any changes to information not available via your account settings can be made by sending an email to sales @ hobbycomponents.com.
The right to erasure â€“ Should you wish to have your account(s) and data deleted you can send a request via email to sales @ hobbycomponents.com.
