These Illuminated panel mounting switches are of a non-latching type. They have a square bezel but with a round barrel making them easy to panel mount. On the rear of the switch are 4 pins, 2 for the switches normally-open contacts, and 2 to power the switches built-in LED which is controlled independently of the switch.

The switches are available in four colours, red (HCSWIT0034), Green (HCSWIT0035), Blue (HCSWIT0036) and Yellow (HCSWIT0038).

Switch Specification:
Maximum Voltage: 250V
Maximum Current: 3A
Locking Type: Non-latching
Size: 16mm
Model: R16-504BD

LED Specification:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BUILT-IN LED DOES NOT INCLUDE A CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR

Forward current (all LEDs): 10mA
Forward Voltage (Red): 2.2V
Forward Voltage (Blue): 3.2V
Forward Voltage (Yellow): 2.2V
Forward Voltage (Green): 4V

hello, is the an LED inside the switch ? if yes which is the drop voltage and current ?

Yes they include an LED. Forward currents for all switches is 10mA. Forward voltages are as follows:

Red = 2.2V
Blue = 3.2V
Yellow = 2.2V
Green = 4V

Hi Andrew,

Maybe a silly question but not seeing anything in the description that these switches are lighted but reading that there is an LED in the switch, can you confirm if a current limiting resistor is built in or does one need to be added in the supply circuit?

Todd

p.s. I see on the other forum post for HCSWIT0034-36, and the product card for same, it is mentioned that a current limiting resistor is required but for reasons unknown the yellow HCSWIT0038 is listed separately without mention of the current limiting resistor. The HCSWIT0038 refers to the other part numbers for Red, Green and Blue so not clear if they are all the same except for the color or why they are listed the way they are.

Hmm yeah that’s a bit of an oversight, I’ll get that added !

They do not have a current limiting resistor so you’d need to add one yourself depending on voltage you wish to power them from. You may have missed a previous post but I’ll paste the forward voltages below (and get them added to the description):

Red = 2.2V
Blue = 3.2V
Yellow = 2.2V
Green = 4V

Above forward voltages are for a 10mA forward current.

Yeah thanks for pointing that out, it’s just a mistake. I’ll get them consolidated into one thread shortly so it’s less confusing!
