13.56Mhz RFID module Kit with ID card and round key chain tag. SPI interface fo convenient interface to microcontrollers such as Arm/AVR/Pic/Arduino, etc.
The RFID Reader Module can be used in a wide variety of hobbyist and commercial applications, including access control, automatic identification, robotics, navigation, inventory tracking, payment systems, and car immobilization.

This is an example of how to use the RC522 RFID module. The module allows reading
and writing to various types of RFID devices and can be found in our MFRC-522 
(HCMODU0016) and Ultimate RFID (HCARDU0068) kits. This example Arduino sketch uses
the RFID library written by Miguel Balboa to read the pre-programmed serial number 
from RFID cards and tags supplied with our RFID kits. Snapshots and links to the 
library are available on our support forum.

Is it possible to write with this Module or is it read only?

Yes it supports writing to cards so long as the card type used supports this and is compatible with the MFRC522. Unfortunately we do not have any example code to do this. There maybe some example code out there but failing that you would need to write code to do this yourself.

In what language is this example code written? Because I want to hook it up to a Raspberry Pi, and it looks fairly similar to a Python version for the Pi I saw a while ago, but that one wasn't completed yet...

It is written in C++ for the Arduino (AVR) platform. As is, it will not work with a RaspberryPi but C++ is a very portable language so if somebody had a little time/knowledge of C++ and the Pi, it should't be too difficult to port to it.

Okay, thanks. I just checked again, and it seems that the reading is finished for the Pi. That's what I only need for the moment (for a school project), so I think I'll be fine. Maybe I can even extend it a little myself. :)
