DC To DC 5A Step Down Converter (HCMODU0129)
DC To DC 5A Step Down Converter (HCMODU0129)
A high power DC - DC step down power supply module capable of supplying currents up to 5A. It has a wide input/output operating range of 5V to 30V input and 1.5V to 28V output. The module includes two large heatsinks to help dissipate heat when used at its upper operating range. Output voltage and maximum load current is adjustable by a precision multi-turn potentiometer. The combination of its ability to output voltages down to 1.5V and its adjustable current limiting (current mode) also makes the module suitable for battery charging applications. When in current limiting mode the on-board power led will turn from red to blue when the load current drops below 10% of the maximum set by the current limiting potentiometer. This provides a visual indication of when a battery is fully charged. Screw terminals provide convenient input and output connections.
Specification:
Product code: HCMODU0129
Input Voltage: 5 to 30V
Output voltage: 1.5 to 28V
Max output current (continuous): 5.3A (see table)
Conversion efficiency (Vin=12.0V, Vout=5V Iload=4A): 88%
Dimensions: 65mm x 47.5mm x 23mm
Hobby Components notes: Do not exceed maximum input voltage. Do not adjust output voltage potentiometer beyond maximum output voltage.

Hello,
Is there a schematic for this module please ?
Are the mounting holes connected to any part of the circuit (must admit not checked as yet)

I'm afraid we don't have a schematic for this module but I've added the datasheet for the XL4016 buck converter the module uses to the first post of this thread. This includes example schematics that will at least give you a rough idea of how it works. Is there a schematic for this module please ?
No, the pads for the 4 mounting holes are isolated from the rest of the circuit. Note though that there are tracks that come close to these pads so if you're using metal fixing screws/standoffs that are bigger than the pads you may want to use mica washers to isolate them. Are the mounting holes connected to any part of the circuit
