Arduino Mega ATMega 2560 (HCARDU0033) Quick Start Guide

Post by admin » Wed Aug 29, 2012 8:40 pm

To help our customers that have purchased one of our Arduino Mega development Boards, and are developing for Arduino for the first time, we have specially created a quick start guide to get you up and running. The guide is in PDF format and so you will need some form of PDF reader to view it, such as Adobe Acrobat reader or Foxit reader. Both can be downloaded for free. To see the attached PDF you must currently be logged in.

when I download this file I cannot read the info because it looks corrupt. Is it my end or can it be fixed?

Thanks for pointing this out, the PDF does seem to be corrupt. I've attached a new copy that should be ok.

My HobbyComponents Mega 2560 is refusing to work.
It's lit up but not showing on a USB port in device manager.
Tried another USB cable and tried it on another computer but no go.

Does it need a special USB driver?
Had it a while but only used it twice and it was fine last time I had it out.

Guess it's died but worth asking...

Thanks
Phil

Does it need a special USB driver?
It just uses the standard Arduino Mega driver. In fact in most cases the driver will install automatically. Assuming you're using Windows do you see anything in device manager when you connect the Mega?

You mention that you've used it before so I assume that you managed to program it with a sketch in the past? Can you tell if the Mega is still running that sketch?

Hi Andrew...
No, there is no sign of it in device manager....
Not sure what I put on it last time.
The amber light comes on and goes off and on again when I press reset button.

Anyway, no worries, I'll get another one..

Thanks
Phil
