This bundle is comprised of a Raspberry Pi 3 Development Board, an elegant stackable Raspberry Pi Case with cooling fan for keeping your Raspberry Pi running at optimum temperature, a MicroSD Card and a Raspberry Pi Power Supply.

About the Raspberry Pi 3

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B looks identical to the Pi 2 B at first glance. It is the same size and has much of the same components on board. So what is the difference? The new Pi 3 brings more processing power and on-board connectivity, saving you time with the development of your applications. Perfect for your Internet of Things (IoT) designs.

Pi 3 compared to Pi 2

More processor speed. The CPU on the Pi 3 is one and a half times faster at 1.2 GHz. Your Pi board performs better.

On-board connectivity. The Pi 3 features 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN and Bluetooth Classic & Low Energy (BLE). You can get connected much quicker without the need for any external device.

New components. The Pi 3 features a chip antenna where status LEDs were located previously. The status LEDs are still on the board, right next to the microSD card slot.

New to Raspberry Pi?
The Raspberry Pi is a single computer board — developed to encourage and aid the teaching of programming and computing. It is also a fantastic starting point for the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) projects. The low cost and 'plug and play' nature of Pi makes for a board that is accessible to all and has numerous connectivity options. Pi is the perfect experimental tool, whether you want to use it as a desktop computer, media centre, server or monitoring/security device within your home. No limits. Linux-based operating systems run on the Pi with plenty of access to free software and downloads.

About the Stackable Raspberry Pi Case

Image

As mentioned above, the case comes with a 40mm fan to help keep your Raspberry Pi cool and running efficiently. The case is designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi versions 2 and 3 and is comprised of 9 pieces of acrylic in an alternating clear and black design. It is simple to construct and as it has an open design, it allows required access to ports including the GPIO whilst at the same time protecting your Raspberry Pi from accidental damage or short circuits.

The case layers can be a little confusing at first glance. The following image shows on which layer each piece should be added. Some of the internal layers have fragile parts and so be careful not to force parts together. Doing so may cause damage. All cases are inspected before they are shipped to help ensure they arrive to you in perfect condition.

About the MicroSD Card

Kingston’s microSDHC/SDXC cards use a speed “class” rating that guarantees a minimum data transfer rate for optimum performance with devices that use these types of memory cards.
NEW version Class 10 UHS-I speed offers a Read speed of 45MB/s and a minimum write speed of 10MB/s.

8GB capacity
Class 10 UHS-I: 45MB/s read speed and 10MB/s write
MicroSDHC card dimensions: 11mm x 15mm x 1mm
Operating Temperatures: -25C to 85C
Storage Temperatures: -40C to 85C
Compliant: with the SD Card Association specification
Can be used as a full-sized SDHC card when combined with the adapter.
